Windrose Vanilla Server without mods

Clearly separate from the MAIN mod server

Vanilla means: no mods, no launcher, no web sync

The vanilla server is for players who want to start without extra software and without mod synchronisation. Join directly in-game with the invite code.

No mods required
Your local mod folder does not need to be synced for this vanilla server.

No Launcher/Chat required
You can join directly through the game. Launcher/Chat remains optional.

No Web Mod-Sync required
Browser sync is only an option for the MAIN mod server.

Separate server option
The vanilla server is separate from the Varga-Tech MAIN mod server.

Do not mix them up: for the MAIN mod server, use the connection page with verify, Varga-Tech server mods, Launcher/Chat, Web Mod-Sync or manual guide. This vanilla page is only for the separate server with invite code vargatechvanilla.

Vanilla safety check

Check the mod folder for Vanilla

For the Vanilla Server, no Windrose mod files should be active in the local mod folder. Old MAIN mods can cause wrong content, loading issues, crashes or connection problems.

Typical folder:
R5\Content\Paks\~mods

Very important: select only the folder R5\Content\Paks\~mods. Never select R5\Content\Paks itself. Backups must also never be inside R5\Content\Paks or ~mods, because Windrose can still read files there.

Safe steps

Close Windrose.

Select your local R5/Content/Paks/~mods folder.

Review detected .pak, .ucas and .utoc files.

For Vanilla: remove mods or let the tool copy them to a backup folder outside R5\Content\Paks first.

Privacy: file names are shown locally in your browser only and are not sent to the server.

The tool checks only the folder you explicitly choose. For safety it accepts only a folder named ~mods as the mod source. Backups must be outside R5\Content\Paks; direct deletion stays disabled.

Manual check: If you do not want to use the tool: open R5/Content/Paks/~mods and move existing .pak, .ucas and .utoc files into a backup folder outside R5\Content\Paks.
Safest manual way: close Windrose, open only R5\Content\Paks\~mods and move existing .pak/.ucas/.utoc files into a backup folder outside R5\Content\Paks, for example Desktop or Documents. Do not create backups inside Paks or ~mods. Never touch original files directly in R5\Content\Paks.

Do I need verification for this?

The vanilla server does not require Varga-Tech mod synchronisation. Additional rules, passwords or later changes are announced on Discord or in the current server information.
